I'm Jimmy Gallipoli, a John Abbott PDHT student and this is my portfolio website! In the PDHT program I study the art of designing websites, vector art, raster art, and books.
These are the programs I use to accomplish my work:
I use these programs everyday and have mastered them, in both english and french. I still struggle with Flash however, but I am motivated to correct that.
As for my own design philosophy or style, I prefer to keep things as simple as possible. I like to be organized and user friendly. There are two reasons for this. First reason is the great influence video-game and internet has on my entire life. That and the experience I have with them. To many times I've come across a video-game or a website that is frustratingly badly designed that I wish I could flick the designers in the forehead. Second reason would be that designing this way saves me days of work, is much sleeker and is much less brain racking. All that being said, if time permits, if I'm in the mood or if deemed necessary, I still enjoy going all out with crazy styles and disorganized havoc.
I have not yet worked for any clients but I am eagerly awaiting my first one. I crave the experience and references it will bring me!
I'm a 22 year old human male with his designer profession lvl nearly maxed out. My starter town is Deux-Montagnes in the zone of Quebec in Canada. I'm currently still saved at my parents' house but as soon as I my max out my designer profession lvl I plan on saving somewhere else, perhaps in another zone.
As you may or may not have noticed, I'm a huge video game fan. I also watch the occasional anime, read some mangas here and there ,among other types of literature, and play Magic: The gathering with my buddies. I play WoW on and off (my short attention span cancels out any addiction it may cause). I also ppreciate a good ol' game of DnD although nowadays with everyone having jobs and school it barely ever happens. I guess you can say I've dabbled in everything one would call nerdy.
It all greatly influences how I design my works.
I love being a designer. I immediately fell in love with the day I started college. Before I discovered designing I was lost in life and had no direction so I hold designing very close and thanks to that I have never been so motivated to do something than ever before in my life....except for playing video games, I've always been motivated to do that. But I digress, thanks to designing, I've accomplished things I thought I could never do on many occasions, it really is something.
