The Course
In this course you will learn to use Photoshop and Fireworks specifically to create graphics for the Web. Now that you know your Photoshop basics, you will apply and develop your knowledge in this course. Using your knowledge of xhtml and css, you will design and create graphics to use in several web pages that you will code using Dreamweaver. Where your images incorporate lettering, you will use guidelines taught in your typography course. You will apply principles of design theory to your work.You will sketch graphics before creating them. You will use a scanner to digitize and enhance your own art work for use on the web. This course gives you many opportunities to follow procedural instructions (tutorials) in photo editing software as well as using photo editing software in an experiential, experimental fashion to further explore the design process. After completing this course successfully, you will be able to use your knowledge and many of the images you produce in the Web Design III: Corporate Web Design course and in the Web Design IV: Creative Web Design course. This course will develop your creativity.
